WERUBI
RISE
Werubi are living dead creatures amalgamated from bone and sinew of various creatures; woven together by fragments of souls and voodoo magic fueled by rage and hatred. They are created through great pain and suffering with one goal in mind: Revenge. They are the reimagined tortured and damned souls of Rey’s coven, Eclipse. Werubi are of symbiotic hive mind magic. They work to bring Rey souls and powerful artifacts so that they may one day seek out their vengeance. Each Werubi is imbued with an elemental aspect upon creation. They will have a natural affinity for their assigned aspect. They are not alive, and therefore do not require sustenance. They do not age. They do not get sick. They do not die. They cannot reproduce. Werubi are directly tied to Rey’s life force and power. As long as she is alive, they cannot be destroyed. A body may be destroyed, but can be reformed as long as the soul is recoverable. Each Werubi draws its own magical abilities directly from Rey. As such, they tirelessly work to bring her more souls and artifacts that they can collectively use to gain power.
We Eclipse coalesce. Hearken eternal unto Soul Mother. Werubi Rise.
As a young sorceress, Rey fell in with a powerful coven who called themselves ‘The Lost Eternals.’ All members were expected to serve the grand magus Y’gden by any means necessary. Y’gden and his coven are one of the few mortal covens that serve and report to Vekais directly. They were known for their savage, inhumane methods. Members of this coven were expected to be ferocious, bloodthirsty, autonomously devout servants. Rey, while loving the power and notoriety, decided that she would rather use her gifts and abilities for a grander purpose. She detested how Y’gden ruled over his coven, and beat down any who dared step out of place. Rey quickly discovered her natural gifts far surpassed many of her superiors. She meticulously rose through the ranks, eventually landing herself on Y’gdens High Council. Her plan was to begin slowly dismantling his empire from the inside.
Many of the lower ranking Students and Disciples of The Lost Eternals noticed Rey’s impressive rise to power. She began seeking out members in secrecy, advising and training them herself. There were a group of 6 members that she initially took under her wing, however, everyone was welcome to study under her. After several months of hushed training sessions, and secret rituals, it was her oldest friend Legion who convinced her to break away from Y’gden and his barbaric coven. Under cover of darkness, Rey and her friends left the coven along with around 30 of Y’gden’s other coven members. This was the beginning of Eclipse. It was a well oiled coven that prospered and flourished quickly.
Y'gden noticed her departure. He sought out council with Vekais. He and his most skilled members performed a ritual to bring Vekais to their realm. He sought vengeance against Rey for her departure, and taking of members of his coven. Vekais granted Y'gden and his council his boon and they set to work rounding up members of Eclipse. Captured members were tortured and murdered for information leading to the original 6 members, or Rey herself. Noone could seem to find Rey.
Rey was captured by Vekais himself, and was in a prison deep in hell while her coven were being slaughtered. As time went on, she began to notice twinges of pain and flashes of horrible.. memories? Couldn't be memories. She couldn't quite grasp them. She began to see the faces more clearly, and realized they were the faces of her six friends. She watched helplessly from her minds eye as each one was massacred.
She tries desperately to free herself, to escape, to save them. Finally she is confronted with the last image of her friend dying; his soul being shredded by Y'gden himself. As the last lights of his escence dripped away from her memory, she flies into a blind rage. Her power explodes from her and she breaks free from her prison.
Various creatures and demonic entities are drawn to her commotion. She makes short work of them, ripping them to pieces and absorbing what power she can. During a lull in the carnage, Vekais appears before her. She turns to see his formless shadow shimmering before her. She leaps wildly at him, and is struck down by an unseen force.
He explains to her that it was his plan for her coven to be captured, and he had a grand design envisioned for her and his followers. He drops the eviscerated remains of her friends soul at her feet.
She reaches out and shakily clenches the fragments. Her sadness, misery, and rage coalesce inside of her. She lets out a bloodcurdling roar, and leaps onto Vekais. She screams out, the power pulsing from her. Her eyes begin to glow a deep shade of crimson. Vekais’ form is sputtering and crackling beneath her, bits of him gripping at her bloodstained fur trying to get free. She then begins to slash and rip at him. As bits of him scatter across the room, she begins to rip and tear with her teeth. Without thinking, she begins to ravenously swallow the bits she has dislodged. She feels a great and terrible power radiating from within her the more she swallows.
She slams her fist on the ground as the last bits of Vekais disappear within her maw. She screams. It is ethereal and demonic. A shock wave of power slowly bubbles from her shaking form. She looks around at the carnage she has caused, and then down at the fragments in her hands. The glow in her eyes begins shifting. Tinges of black begin to stain the proud crimson glow. An unseen ripple of power shifts through some of the remains staining her feet. The air is deadly still.
She reaches a hand out toward a macabre scene of limbs and bile. The rotting flesh squelches to life and is pulled through the air towards her. With her other hand she casts the fragments of soul into the putrid concoction. She then pulls from her own life energy; directing it to join the abomination forming before her. One final, painful eruption of power from her very core explodes from her, filling the room with light and energy. Finally she uses her stolen power to sew life into her creation.

What makes a werubi?
While it is possible to retain some of a souls prior memories and experiences, it is very difficult for Rey to recreate a Werubi into an image that resembles its prior self. As such, Legion has helped designate a list of 'parts' that are acceptable for a Werubi to be crafted from. He thought that others of his species should not have to look as gruesome and macabre as he.
SOULS AND MAGIC
The creation of a Werubi occurs when Rey is able to recover the lost soul of one of her departed followers. Through necromancy and voodoo magic, she is able to draw from her own life force and weave the fragments into a reanimated servant. A Werubi’s power comes directly from Rey. The soul does not retain any magical power that it would have learned from its previous existence. However, the colors and magical properties of the reanimated creature can be influenced by experiences and magical abilities from their past life if the soul within was strong enough.
Reds are absolute powerhouses, the strongest and most stable souls. They master the art of magic and physical force with ease. Red souls are more in tune with the creator as they have a bit more of her own personal life force sewn into them. This can either be because they were a super dedicated servant in life or she felt a particular connection to that individual soul.Greens have perfected earthen voodoo, and harness the natural energy of earth life to aid them in many ways.Blues harness the raw power of water and sky and are able to bend water and air to their will.Purples are masters of potions and tinctures. They can use these to power up their voodoo in any way they see fit.Orange and yellows run hot, conjuring fire from the depths of their own soul.Other colors like pink, turquoise, and lavender have been observed. Individuals sporting these colors do not appear to have any innate affinities for a magical prowess, but can train into an aspect if desired.
A Werubi's soul color, or magical attribute is tied directly into their creation. Rey must use some of her power to forge a soul into her reanimated creature. She chooses attributes based on an individuals aptitude in the past life, or what she thinks they may best be suited for.
Due to the nature of necromancy, there are some liberties that can be taken with creating a Werubi.
Golden souls, while not to be confused with the above Orange/Yellow, can occur but are extremely rare. Gold Werubi are crafted by weaving fragments of gold in with the magic used to breathe in life. These individuals will have an affinity for trinkets and riches. These souls do not glow bright, but instead shimmer and glisten.
Sometimes fragments of souls are unable to be sewn together using one particular magic, due to the nature of its demise. There are a few observed reactions after restoring these individuals through mixing magics. Reanimation has only been attempted by using one or two separate magics. Using more than two magics has not yet been warranted.
Upon creation, the two magics may not intertwine harmoniously. This will result in a Werubi with two distinct colors that do not mix. Often these individuals are unhinged, sporting two different personalities, and have temperamental magical abilities.
Some individuals are able to be sewn together with the magics intertwining perfectly. These Werubi are able to use their two magical attributes interchangeably. Some have been observed finding new creative ways to combine the magics.
Soul splitting has only ever happened one time. This resulted in the creation of two Werubi. This rare bit of magic was used to save the soul of Se'ula. Her soul was so violated that reanimating it into one being was impossible. This resulted in the creation of the Sinister Sisters: Sela and Sula.
HORNS
Werubi have three main horn classes and one sub type. Their class of horns usually attribute to their personality. Horns have transparent cracks running through them, and the glow comes from the color of their soul.
Sentinal: Horns that stand mostly vertical from the skull. These horns will have two prongs at most.
Wilden: These are multi pointed, unkempt horns. Will have many prongs in different directions.
Regal: Horns that are connected and resemble a halo. Multiple prongs are very uncommon.
Sub Type - Jinxed: One or both horns are broken or shattered, and if the soul is strong enough, pieces of the horn are held together. Jinxed horns can be mixed with any of the above.
HORN TYPE ATTRIBUTES:
Individuals seen sporting Sentinal horn shapes prefer to use their strength over magic. While they can still have a magical proficiency, they prefer to get their hands dirty. Some have even been observed imbuing their magic into their bodies to appear more muscular.
Individuals adorned with Wilden horns have a greater affinity for their magic. They are able to use it with ease, and do not have to do much training in order to perfect their craft.
Individuals with Regal horn shapes have retained most of their knowledge and memories from their past life. These individuals are skilled with both magic and physical tasks.
tusks
All Werubi have tusks, long or short, they are always present. They love to adorn their tusks with all types of jewelry, and some werubi even file them down and cap them. Their frontal canines are usually always visible as well and length will vary from very short to saber like.
FUR PATTERNS
For their fur, you will see mostly natural patterns, colors, and gradients. High contrast, unnatural colors are against Werubi standards.
Soft unsaturated blues and reds are uncommon and can occur, but you will most likely see variations of colors and patterns as seen on big cats, elk, deer, and horses.
Every werubi has an upright or down-facing crescent moon between their eyebrows. This is tied to their species, and was branded upon them during their creation.
body specifics
Their heads have goat like nostrils/noses with long horse-like ears. Males will have shorter small down-facing ears, while females will have upright long ones.
Eyes will always have a dark sclera, with a pupil-less glowing iris. The inside of the mouth, teeth, gums, and tongue all glow the color of their soul. They always have hooves, occasionally they will have one to two notches taken out.Tails are lion like and can grow long thick hair from base to tip.
body mutations
Many mutations occur during the creation process.
Some werubi have hollow sections on their body called 'hollow points'. You can directly see into, and sometimes straight through their body shell. Their soul will be visible through these sections.Bones can protrude through their bodies, and rarely limbs will only be made of bone.Multiple limbs such as tails, arms, and very rarely: multiple heads.Wings are extremely rare, but can occur if enough soul is extracted from winged critters.Rune markings can be branded into their bodies, and will glow with their spirit color.Rifts in their bodies can be seen, they don't go as deep as hollow points but do let their inner soul color shine through.

Werubi are an undead, ethereal, chimera-type species of soul collectors.
They were created by Rey, a high ranked witch.
How do I get a Werubi?
I offer adoptables every so often, you can get notifications if you join my Discord (discord.gg/satsukii) or keep an eye out on FurAffinity for auctions.
Do Werubi possess magic?
Yes, depending on their horn and soul type. You can read more in the Aspects section.
Can they procreate/get pregnant?
No, they are all infertile. New werubi can only be created by Rey after enough soul fragments are harvested. They still enjoy sex though, as it's a way to share energy and create harmony in the coven.
What inspired the species?
Elk, Horses, Deer, and big cats!
Do they need to eat?
The short answer is no, they don't require food for sustenance. In collecting souls for the Queen, she in return keeps them sustained.
